Tracking/Recording:

Our modest studio space in Santa Clara, California can accommodate small groups or ensembles of up to six or seven people. Recording is digital audio workstation (DAW) based, using ProTools and/or Samplitude Professional. If desired, sessions can be loaded onto your choice of media for transport to another facility, for mixing or other further production work.

Tracking services can be done at your place! All of our tracking gear can be transported to another recording space/venue of your choosing; so, if you have a space where you love the particular acoustics, or if you’d just be more comfortable recording at your own place – we can do that!

Mixing:

Our world-class monitoring chain allows for precise mixdown of your work. Mixing can be done either for projects we’ve tracked, or for projects brought in from other tracking sessions.

Our selection of world-class plugins allows us to create correspondingly world-class “In The Box” mixdown results. In addition, our high-quality outboard analog gear can be used, and we can also accommodate the use of your favorite outboard gear you can bring in if you choose. Rough and final mixes can be delivered on a variety of formats, including CD-R, DVD-R, DAT, hard disk, your iPod – even a high-quality cassette tape if you want.

Mastering:

Mastering can be done for sessions we tracked and/or mixed, or for files you bring in from another session. While we have some of the latest tools for making your finished CD “commercially competitive,” our preferred mastering philosophy is to utilize little if any compression and limiting, to best preserve the musical dynamics and thrilling high-definition audio quality of your important musical works. We can work with many types of formats, including digital files up to 24/192, DAT, analog cassette, and Sony PCM-F1 format.

CD & cassette transfer services:

Have a treasured and/or rare recording on disc or “vinyl” that you’d like to be able to play on a CD player? We can do disc-to-CD transfers of the utmost quality, from any 33, 45, or 78 rpm recording, with the ability to precisely vary the turntable speed (by about 10%) if necessary. Our state-of-the-art software tools allow us to produce mastered results that are free of pops, crackles and other common disc flaws. Transfers from analog cassettes can have most of the “hiss” type noise removed. All of this without any compromise of the quality of the sound of the original material -- we can achieve amazing results!
